Roadside bomb kills 9 Afghan civilians

A roadside bomb apparently intending to hit NATO troops instead hit a civilian vehicle and killed nine Afghans, an Afghan official said Tuesday. The provincial police chief in Uruzgan province said that two children were among the dead from the bomb that hit a small van commonly used as a taxi in Afghanistan. Police Chief Juma Gul Himat blamed the Taliban for the attack. He said the road where the bomb exploded is often used by NATO troops.
