Report: Mossad joins investigation on Kenya airport fire

Investigators probe whether terrorism was behind inferno responsible for closing airport, disrupting travel, Kenyan TV reports.

Members of the Mossad have reportedly joined a local FBI unit and local authorities in Kenya's capital city of Nairobi to probe the cause of a deadly fire that broke out at the country's main airport last week, Kenyan Citizen News TV's website reported.
Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, sub-Saharan Africa's fourth busiest airport, was forced to close on last Wednesday after a fire swept through the international arrivals building early in the morning.
Investigators were striving “to confirm or eliminate the theory that terrorism could have been responsible for the inferno that temporarily shut the airport and caused massive disruptions to air travel to and from various destinations in Africa, the Middle East, Europe and Asia,” Citizen News quoted a local newspaper as reporting.
Upon initial reports, investigators said it was too early to ascertain the cause of the fire but had ruled out terrorism.
The blaze occurred on the anniversary of an attack by Islamist militants on the US embassies in Nairobi and Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
