Top Hindu nationalist leader Pramod Mahajan was shot three times by his brother at his Bombay residence on Saturday and he has been hospitalized with bullet injuries, a top police officer said.
His younger brother, Pravin Mahajan, later surrendered to police, said Bombay Police Commissioner A.N. Roy.
Pramod Mahajan, a top Bharatiya Janata Party leader, is undergoing surgery in Bombay's Hinduja Hospital, Roy said, and added that police were interrogating Pravin Mahajan.
