An explosion caused by a fire at a shooting range in Istanbul left 14 people injured on Thursday, the Anatolia news agency and private NTV television reported.
Firefighters quickly brought the fire under control in the range, located on the ground floor of a five-story building in the residential district of Uskudar on the Asian side of the city, Anatolia said.
Ambulances rushed the injured, most of whom suffered severe burns, to local hospitals.
The injured were seen on the pavement outside the building before medics arrived, video footage from the Dogan News Agency showed. The clothes of some were ripped off and some were bare footed.
Most of the injured were employees of a private bank, CNN-Turk reported, suggesting that they could be guards who were training at the range.
The fire and explosion were under investigation, though it did not appear to be an act of terrorism.
Radical Kurdish, Islamic and leftist activists, however, are active in the city and have staged bomb attacks in the past.
