Danish prosecutor: Small radical Islamic movement cannot be banned

Denmark's top prosecutor says the Danish branch of a small radical Islamic movement cannot be banned. The prosecutor's office says it decided against imposing a ban on the Hizb ut-Tahrir group because it had not violated the country's constitution. It is the second time since 2004 that the public prosecutions office has reached that conclusion. Thursday's decision was prompted by a request from the Justice Ministry to reinvestigate the group. The movement's spokesman has received short prison sentences for printing remarks considered anti-Semitic and making threats against the Danish prime minister. The movement reportedly has a few hundred members in Denmark.
