Six-year-old Bridger Walker of Wyoming has recently gained the attention of Captain American played by actor Chris Evans after he saved his sister from being attacked by a dog.
After a one-year-old German shepherd mix lunged at his four-year-old sister, Walker jumped in front of the charging dog figuratively "taking the bullet" for his sibling.
“Tragically, instead of running off, the dog leaped and latched onto Bridger’s cheek,” a family statement reads, according to CNN.

The attack resulted in two hours of surgery and 90 stitches for Walker .
When his father asked him why he jumped in front of the dog to come to the rescue of his sister, Walker said "“if someone had to die, I thought it should be me," according to the statement.
However, his bravery did not go unnoticed.
"Hey Bridger, Captain America here. How you doing buddy? I read your story, and I saw what you did. I'm sure you've heard a lot of this over the last couple of day but let me be the next one to tell you, pal you're a hero. What you did is so brave, so selfless. Your sister is so lucky to have you as her big brother. Your parents must be so proud of you," Evans said on his Instagram.
And for his bravery, Evans promised him the coveted Captain America Shield.
"I'm going to track down your address and I'll send you Captain America's Shield, because pal you deserve it," Evans concluded. "Keep being the man you are, we need people like you. Hang in there, I know recovery might be tough, but based on what I've seen I don't see much that could slow you down."

Other Hollywood stars and superheroes reached out to Walker to show their respect, such as Mark Ruffalo who plays the Hulk in the Avengers series, Tom Holland who plays Spiderman in the Marvel Universe, Anne Hathaway who played Catwoman in the Dark Knight Rises, Hugh Jackman who famously plays Wolverine in the X-Men, Zachary Levi who plays Shazam! in the DC Universe movies, as well as the Russo brothers who directed Avengers Endgame and Avengers Infinity War, among others.
