5 killed, 5 injured in hotel fire in Georgia

Five people were killed and another five were injured in a hotel fire Thursday morning, a fire department spokesman said. The fire was reported at about 7:30 a.m. at the Budget Inn in Riverdale, a suburb south of Atlanta. Five people were killed and another five people, including two firefighters, were taken to hospitals, said Lt. Billy Rice, a spokesman for the Clayton County Fire Department. No cause was determined. It was not clear how many people were in the hotel when the fire started, Rice said, adding that all the records in the hotel were destroyed by the fire.
