Afghan police clashed with suspected Taliban militants in southern Afghanistan, killings three fighters, while NATO-led troops killed a civilian when a vehicle failed to stop at a roadblock, officials said.
The militants were killed and captured between the provinces of Kandahar and Uruzgan, said Matiullah Khan, an officer with border police.
In the neighboring Helmand province, NATO-led troops killed an Afghan civilian after firing at a vehicle which failed to stop at a roadblock, the alliance said Wednesday.
