By JERUSALEM POST STAFFTry one yourself >>>Residence: Levittown, PA, USA
Married? With children? N/A
Occupation: Semi-retired
Pets: Boy cat (Bootsie) and Girl Cat (Lady)
Religious affiliation / observance: Jewish / reform
My history (100 words max): Born in upstate Pennsylvania before color television, microwaves, and cell phones. Converted to Judaism 8+ years ago and maintain very active participation in Synagogue life.
Defining moment: Several: My conversion service, praying at The Kotel, visiting Yad Vashem, meeting IDF soldiers, and seeing Israel for my first time.
My favorite holiday: Rosh Hashanah. Seeing nearly all the members of our congregation gathered in one place to celebrate the New Year is very heart-warming.
On Friday night... You'll probably find me on the right side of the center aisle. Once a month, I'll be in the tenor section of our choir. (Yes, folks, Jews DO have choirs!) Shabbat morning, look in Chevrat Torah, our informal service.
Comfort food: Macaroni and cheese - LOTS of it
My mentor: Certainly our Rabbis and Cantor, but mostly our Rabbinic Scholar. Her knowledge, advice and support are central to my life as a Jew.
3 wishes: To see an increase in awareness of Israeli issues among our members. To return to Israel ASAP. To learn Hebrew well enough to consider aliyah
