Yesha Council chair Danny Dayan blasted the security cabinet's expected decision to implement a 10-month moratorium on settlement construction, saying that "the Netanyahu government was chosen based on a promise to develop and encourage settlement activity." Once this government was formed, continued Dayan, it began to inhibit settlement activity. And now, concluded the head of the Yesha Council, the government has begun a final phase meant to ultimately eliminate all settlement activity. Dayan concluded his remarks by saying that "the ministers of this government have a responsibility to prevent such a move."
