Ya'alon meets with Italian counterpart in Rome

Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon on Tuesday met with his Italian counterpart Roberta Pinoti at her office in Rome, the first in a series of planned discussions with Italian government officials.

During the meeting, Ya'alon thanked Pinoti for Italy's continual support of Israel in security matters, highlighting the importance of reinforcing ties between the two countries especially within the defense establishment.

'We greatly appreciate the relationship between the security establishments, armies and citizens. We aim to strengthen these relationships because we speak the same language when it comes to the challenges we face," Ya'alon said, adding, "The relationship between the defense industries are highly valued by us."
