White House to nominate Simons, Phillips, Chopra to FTC

WASHINGTON- The White House will nominate Joseph Simons, Noah Phillips and Rohit Chopra to the Federal Trade Commission, a White House official said on Wednesday.
Simons will be named head of the agency once the Senate confirms him, the official said.
The FTC works with the Justice Department to enforce antitrust law and investigates allegations of deceptive advertising. It is an independent agency headed by a chairman and four commissioners. No more than three commissioners can come from any one party.
