White House to name new Jewish liaison

The Obama administration is reportedly set to name Jarrod Bernstein, an official with the Department of Homeland Security, as its new Jewish community liaison.
Bernstein will replace Danielle Borrin in mid-October, Washington Jewish Week reporter Adam Kredo reported over the weekend on his blog. Kredo cited multiple sources with ties to the White House.
Bernstein is a deputy assistant secretary in the office of intergovernmental affairs at the Department of Homeland Security. He worked in several capacities for New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg before joining DHS, according to Politico.
Borrin has been the Jewish liaison for two years. She also serves as a special assistant in the office of the vice president and is expected to remain in that position full time, Kredo wrote.
