UN: Up to 40,000 flee from Sudan's Abyei and border region

JUBA, Sudan - Up to 40,000 people have fled Abyei and border regions after north Sudan seized control of the disputed area, the United Nations said in Wednesday.
Refugees initially moved from Abyei to the southern town of Agok but are now fleeing further south, Lise Grande, the UN top humanitarian official in south Sudan, told Reuters. "We are very concerned, many of them are older people and kids".
