Fires broke out in two different apartments, in Petah Tikva, and in east Jerusalem overnight, leaving several injured.
A 12-year-old boy was left in critical condition after a fire broke out in a Petah Tikva apartment building in the early hours of Thursday morning, Magen David Adom (MDA) said.
A man, around 50-years-old, was also seriously injured from smoke inhalation while two children suffered light injuries.
MDA paramedics treated the two and rushed the child to Schneider Children’s Medical Center for Israel in Petah Tikva, where the medical staff is fighting for his life.
The circumstances of the fire are being investigated.
Elsewhere, nine people were injured from a fire that broke out around the same time in an east Jerusalem apartment on Aviad Street. Eight were injured lightly while one, a 70-year-old man, is in moderate condition with third-degree burns.
The fire was extinguished by firefighters who arrived on the scene.
Medical teams operating at the scene treated nine residents who were injured.
