Tel Aviv campaigns for bike, pedestrian separation

The Tel Aviv-Yafo municipality has launched an informational campaign on the importance of bicycle and pedestrian separation – stressing that the use of bike lanes is for bicycles only. As part of the campaign, the city has marked bike paths on Rothschild Boulevard with solid dark green circles that have a white bicycle embedded in their center. If the new signs on this path prove successful, the municipality said it will mark other bike paths throughout the city in the same manner.

In addition to the new markings on the Rothschild bike paths, informational guides will walk around the boulevard for the next for Fridays, performing advocacy and educating pedestrians and cyclists on the importance of separation between bike and footpaths, the city added.
