Strauss, Tara follow Tnuva lead, lower cottage cheese price

Dairy manufacturers Strauss and Tara followed Tnuva's announcement on Wednesday to lower cottage cheese costs following a boycott of the product, and other dairy food items, that began on Facebook less than a month ago.
Tnuva said that it will reduce the wholesale price of a cup of cottage cheese from NIS 5.20 to NIS 4.55, a move it says will bring the recommended retail price down to NIS 5.90. The company promised not to raise prices again until at least the end of 2011.
