Soldiers arrested on suspicion of drug, weapons trafficking

A clandestine investigation has been underway to determine whether six civilians and two IDF soldiers were involved in drug and arms trafficking in the North, police said Wednesday.The eight – residents of Yarka, Horfeish and the Golan Heights – were arrested by Galilee police on suspicion of trafficking drugs and stealing weapons from IDF bases in northern Israel.Among the weapons stolen was a machine gun from an outpost near the Lebanese border.Police will seek a remand extension.
