School in Sderot closes after student tests positive for coronavirus

The Sderot Municipality has ordered a primary school closed after the Health Ministry reported that a student tested positive for coronavirus.

All students are ordered to quarantine themselves at home until June 17.

The municipality is organizing tests for all students and staff at the school, a total of 350 people, by Monday.

The school is one of four in Sderot that have been forced to close due to coronavirus cases.

Sderot Mayor Alon Davidi is working with officials in the Health and Education ministries as well as with school administrators to coordinate testing and any further decisions regarding the city's educational system.
