Rice brings foreign policy clout to Republican convention

Former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice spoke on Thursday at the Republican National Convention in Tampa, reassuring US allies "from Israel to Poland to the Philippines to Colombia and across the world...that we are reliable and consistent and determined."
"We cannot be reluctant to lead, and you cannot lead from behind," said Rice, who was greeted with loud cheers by standing, sign-waving delegates. "Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan will rebuild us at home and they will help us lead abroad. They will provide an answer to the question, 'Where does America stand?'" she said.
Meanwhile, Paul Ryan strongly criticized Obama for managing American decline, saying he has "left allies to doubt us, and adversaries to test us."
He stated: "After four years of getting the run-around, America needs a turnaround, and the man for the job is Governor Mitt Romney."
