Report: Singapore general elections to be held on May 7

SINGAPORE - Singapore will hold its next general election on May 7, state media reported on Tuesday.
Nominations will take place on April 27, Channel NewsAsia said.
President S. R. Nathan dissolved parliament earlier in the day.
Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong's People's Action Party has ruled Singapore since independence in 1965 and will likely be returned with a large majority. The PAP won 82 of the 84 seats and got two-thirds of the votes at the last general elections in 2006.
