Railway Workers Union: 'We are committed to safety'

The Railway Workers Union emphasized its commitment to the safety of passengers and employees, and welcomed the desire to improve train safety in Israel, according to a statement made Sunday. "We call on the Minister of Transportation to instruct the CEO's office and the railway's management to enter into the conference room along with the employees, and conduct discussions on the implementation of sequential and thorough safety immediately."This statement came as a response to Transportation Minister Israel Katz's announcement made earlier in the day, in which he threatened to shut down the train company on August 17th and build it back up from scratch unless improvements were made to the security of passengers and employees immediately.London police arrest sword-wielding man after reports of stabbing
