Police: Palestinian who planned Jerusalem tram attack sought revenge for Temple Mount

The Palestinian who was arrested in July on suspicious of planning an attack on the Jerusalem light rail had been seeking to carry out a revenge attack over the situation regarding the Temple Mount, police announced Tuesday.
According to a joint police and security establishment investigation, civil engineering student Ali Abu Hassan, 21, from the Palestinian village of Beit Ula in the West Bank was identified as the suspect.
According to investigation details released Tuesday, Hassan, who had arrived to a tram station in Jerusalem carrying pipe bombs and knives, had planned a serious attack in "revenge' for Jewish visits to the Temple Mount complex.
