PM to meet Biden, Kerry in Davos

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is scheduled to meet US Vice President Joe Biden and Secretary of State John Kerry on the sidelines of the World Economics Forum in Davos on Thursday.
The meetings come after a public dispute with US ambassador Dan Shapiro, who said on Monday that at times there seemed to be a double Israeli legal standard in the West Bank, an assertion angrily rejected by the Prime Minister's Office. Shapiro also last week expressed US reservations over the proposed NGO Transparency Law.
The talks also come at a time when the US has apparently given up on re-starting Israeli-Palestinian negotiations, and amid calls by the Europeans for a multilateral diplomatic track, rather than a bilateral Israeli-Palestinian one.
Netanyahu arrived in Davos on Wednesday, and held meetings with business leaders including Hewlett-Packard CEO Meg Whitman. He is expected to speak at a business session in Davos on Thursday, and be interviewed onstage by the CNN's Fareed Zakaria.
