Muslim Brotherhood plans to establish political party

The Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt on Tuesday said it will establish a political party once restrictions which prevent it and other groups from doing so are lifted, Reuters reported.
The group said it had announced its plans to establish a party many years ago but was unable to do so due to the political parties law which curbed political activity under former president Hosni Mubarak.
"When the popular demand for the freedom to form parties is realized, the group will found a political party," said the statement which was posted on the group's website and dated February 14.
