Knesset debates affirmative action plan to favor army grad

The Knesset Law Committee passed in first reading, on Sunday, a new bill that would favor people who completed IDF service or service in other security forces when applying to government jobs.The bill, which was sponsored by Israel Beiteinu MKs David Rotem, Alex Miller and Hamed Amar, was severely criticized by Arab and Haredi rights groups claiming it harmed equality and discriminated against their sectors.Rocket sirens sound across northern Israel
