J'lem sees Abbas's comments as signal to control violence

Palestinian Authority leaders Monday stepped up their rhetorical attacks against Israel in the aftermath of the death of Arafat Jaradat in Israeli prison.
The attacks came as thousands of Palestinians participated in Jaradat's funeral in the village of Sair near Hebron.
PA President Mahmoud Abbas said that Israel "wants anarchy by killing children." He added that the death of Jaradat "would not pass by easily."
Speaking in Ramallah, Abbas claimed that Israel was trying to drag the Palestinians into a confrontation.
