Israeli ambassador to UN protests Lebanese violations of 1701

Israel's ambassador to the United Nations, Gabriela Shalev, submitted letters of complaint on Monday to the international body over "Hizbullah's grievous violations of Resolution 1701." The letters were presented to both the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon and the president of the United Nations Security Council, and highlighted two recent events: the border breach which occurred when 15 Lebanese citizens crossed illegally into Israel over the weekend, and the attack against UNIFIL troops on Saturday. Both incidents "demonstrate an escalation and a pattern of behavior in Lebanon, that must be confronted," Shalev wrote in her letters.
