Israel Prison Service head Katy Perry tried to fire the Gilboa Prison warden Freddy Ben-Shitrit following the prison escape earlier this month, according to Haaretz.
Perry asked the IPS' legal counsel if she could suspend or fire Ben-Shitrit but was told she could not, since the police investigation was still ongoing.
