Herzog: Likud-Beytenu merger will alienate soft Likudniks

Labor MK Issac Herzog reacted to the reported merger between Likud and Yisrael Beytenu on Thursday, saying that the resulting party would be a "north pole" of right-wing extremists in Israeli politics.
Speaking in an interview with Channel 2, Herzog said that he was not sure the merger would lead to the creation of the biggest party in upcoming elections.
"There are many soft Likud voters and Likud voters concerned with social issues who will no longer have a home," Hersog stated.
Herzog added that he supported the formation of Left-Center bloc to challenge Netanyahu.
