Head of Schalit campaign: We won't respond to <i>Der Spiegel</i> report

Head of the Campaign to Free Gilad Schalit said Saturday that the Schalit family and the campaign would not respond to a report that Israel made Hamas a new offer in a bid to release the soldier. The offer was publicized by German magazine Der Spiegel and said the German intelligence agency was mediating between Israel and Hamas. "The Schalit family does not tend to respond to [unofficial] reports regarding a coming deal," Shimshon Liebman, head of the campaign said. He added that the family will issue a statement only after it will have been briefed by Israeli officials.
