Haniyeh: We don't want to beg for a state

Hamas Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh criticized on Friday the Palestinian Authority's petition for statehood at the United Nations, saying that "liberation" of Palestine must come first, and then the "state," Hamas-affiliated Al Resalah reported.
"We do not want to beg for a state," Haniyeh said during Friday prayers at a mosque in Gaza City.
"We have reservations about the United Nations because we feel the institution is controlled by the Americans and others," Haniyeh continued. "The political orientation of the United Nations is not beneficial."
