Hamas official wants to see more IDF soldiers kidnapped

Hamas engineer Ismail al-Ashkar encouraged the kidnapping of more IDF soldiers in order to put pressure on Israel to release Palestinian prisoners, Hamas-affiliate Al Resalah reported Tuesday.

Ashkar made the comments during a Palestinian Prisoner Affairs Ministry meeting on Monday convened at the International Red Cross headquarters in Gaza City to show solidarity with Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails.

"The policy of kidnapping soldiers and settlers will continue until the release of our brave prisoners," Ashkar said.
