Dead Sea beaches open after sewage malfunction fixed; Acre beaches closed

The Tamar Regional Council on Tuesday morning reopened the Dead Sea beaches in its jurisdiction to the public, after a malfunction threatening to spill sewage into the sea was fixed Monday night. The Interior Ministry confirmed the move. Meanwhile, the Health Ministry announced that Acre's beaches were closed to the public after sewage poured into the Mediterranean near the northern city via the Na'aman river.
