Coronavirus: Israel hits 1,600 dead, tops 70,000 tests in one day

Israel hit several coronavirus peaks on Thursday, the Health Ministry showed.

There were 9,013 people infected on Wednesday, the Thursday evening report showed. The new patients were part of 70,012 people screened - the first time Israel took more than 70,000 tests in a single day.

Moreover, the death rate hit 1,600.

Of the sick, some 817 are in serious condition, including 186 who are intubated.
