Bus routes in the area, specifically to the Western Wall, were altered due to the clashes.

Three Palestinians were arrested in clashes between Border Police officers and Palestinians at Damascus Gate in Jerusalem on Monday.

Palestinians rioted, throwing rocks and bottles at officers as tear gas and stun grenades were used by Israeli forces to control the crowd, according to Palestinian media.

Bus routes in the area, specifically to the Western Wall, were altered due to the clashes as Israel's largest transportation company Egged said it was instructed to do so by Israel Police.

"We will not endanger the driver and passengers' safety within Jerusalem and we expect police and defense forces to act professionally and carefully to find a solution," Egged's spokesperson reportedly said.

However, police have denied an instruction to alter bus routes was made, according to Israeli media.
