Chief Rabbi Metzger: Devote time to educating teens against violence

In light of the recent spate of violent incidents and murders across the country, Chief Ashkenazi Rabbi Yona Metzger on Monday called on schools to devote time at the beginning of the coming school year to education on non-violence and tolerance. "Sadly, we have recently been witness to a rising wave of violence and murders," Metzger said in a statement Monday. "I believe we must allocate more resources to the education of teenagers, and ask the teachers in Israel… to devote the month of [September] to dealing with human dignity, the sanctity of life, tolerance and [education] against violence."
