Cantor says US Republicans united against tax hikes

WASHINGTON - US House of Representatives Majority Leader Eric Cantor said on Thursday that Republicans are united against including tax increases in any deal to raise the federal debt ceiling.
"I can tell you one thing, that we are united as Republicans to say now is not the time to raise taxes," Cantor said in an interview with MSNBC's "Morning Joe" program.
Cantor, speaking as congressional leaders prepared for a White House meeting with President Barack Obama later on Thursday, said House Speaker John Boehner is also "not for increasing taxes.
