Campaign to raise awaren

With nearly 20 percent of Israelis suffering from chronic pain, the Israel Association for Palliative Care (Tmicha) is marking World Hospice and Palliative Day with an awareness campaign until Thursday. Events are meant for both health professionals and the general public on the aims and availability of palliative care. A law passed in the Knesset a few years ago that deals with the rights of a dying person will be described to participants. Among the Wednesday events will be a public seminar between noon and 3.30 at the Modi'in Lev Shopping Center and the Netanya Geriatric Medical Center and between 2 p.m. and 4.45 p.m. in the Goldman Auditorium of Ben-Gurion University's Faculty of Health Sciences.
