British diplomat: UK concerned about Hizbullah rearming

A junior minister with Britain's Foreign Office said on Thursday that his country is very concerned about the Hizbullah group rearming. Ivan Lewis said the group is prohibited from rearming by a UN Security Council resolution 1701, which ended the Second Lebanon War in 2006. Lebanese Foreign Minister Fawzi Salloukh told reporters after meeting with Lewis in Beirut that Hizbullah's weapons are an internal Lebanese matter that is being discussed by rival factions. Hizbullah leader Hassan Nasrallah said recently that his group has replenished its weapons stock since the 2006 war and has more than 30,000 rockets. The war killed around 1,200 people in Lebanon - mostly civilians - and 160 in Israel.
