A 16-year-old was stabbed in a Netanya school on Sunday morning and taken to Laniado Medical Center in light condition, the Israel Police said.
Police officers arrived at the scene and arrested two students on suspicion of involvement in the attack, the police said.
“Netanya condemns any act of violence and is doing everything possible to defeat this phenomenon,” the Netanya Municipality said in a statement.
“When the news arrived, Mayor Miriam Feirberg Ikar immediately went to the hospital to visit the boy and his family and promised to help as much as needed,” it said.
"This incident is being investigated by the police and is being dealt with by the Education Ministry and the school's staff."

The attack was the second time within a week that a student was stabbed at the high school. Last week, a 16-year-old was stabbed by people who broke into the school campus.
