Ariel says Modi is a great friend of the State of Israel

Agriculture Minister Uri Ariel met with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday in an effort to strengthen economic and agricultural ties between the two countries.
“I was glad to meet with Prime Minister Modi,” Ariel said after their meeting in the course an international agricultural conference in the Indian state of Gujarat. “He is a great friend of the State of Israel. We discussed different issues and agreed upon tightening the agricultural ties between our countries.”
At the meeting Ariel introduced a new economic- agricultural model developed by Israel’s Agriculture Ministry that focuses on finding solutions to major challenges in Indian agriculture, such as in the family- and private- farming sphere.
Ariel said that “the challenges that Israel faces are similar to those of India, both in security and in economics – especially in agriculture and water issues. I believe that together we can find the right path to achieve many common goals. Both the Indian and Jewish peoples have ancient traditions, but also a common future that will lead both countries to prosperity and great achievements.”
This year Israel and India celebrate 25 years of diplomatic ties, and was also designated by the Indian government as a year to conduct meetings between high-ranking officials from both countries.
