'Al-Houni: Gaddafi only controls small area in Tripoli'

Muammar Gaddafi only controls several military camps in a small area in Tripoli, and his hometown city, claimed Libya's former Arab League representative, Abdel-Monem al-Houni, in an interview with Al-Arabiya, reported Israel Radio on Saturday.

According to the report, Al-Houni also said that the capital now relied on minimal security battalions and troops.

On Friday, members of Libya's Arab League mission said they resigned en masse because of Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi's use of force against his opponents.

The 11 members said in a statement they decided to quit and join the opposition demanding that Gaddafi abandon power.
