Aged Saudi ruler hospitalized for blood clot

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia — Saudi Arabia's royal palace has announced that King Abdullah has been admitted to hospital after suffering from back pain due to a blood clot.
The Saudi official news agency quoted the palace statement Friday as saying a blood clot had created pressure on the nerves surrounding a ruptured disc and doctors asked him to rest.
