Afghan challenger to call for election boycott

Afghan challenger to cal

Afghan President Hamid Karzai's challenger plans to call for a boycott of next Saturday's runoff election in hopes of forcing a postponement of the vote until the spring. That's the word from Abdullah Abdullah's campaign manager Satar Murad. Murad said "as of now" Abdullah plans to call for a boycott during a press conference Sunday. Murad says Abdullah will call for an interim government to run the country until a new vote can be held after the end of winter and after officials have had time to organize a fair election. The runoff was called after massive fraud in the first round vote August 20.
