The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) on Thursday condemned the "brutal beating" of an Israeli policewoman by settlers in Tsofim during a protest against the delivering of settlement freeze edicts to local residents. ADL called the incident "an affront to Israel's democratic values and, if unchecked â€¦ a threat to the unity of the Jewish state." According to the ADL statement, "The perpetrators failed to consider the consequences of their actions and, as a result, injured a policewoman. This deeply disturbing trend of increasing violence emerging from extremist Jews living in the settlements must be condemned by all those who believe in the importance and sanctity of achieving goals through non violent means."
