Two vintage bands from the late 1970s punk/new wave explosion - one American and one British - will be performing at the Ra'anana Amphitheater on July 3. Blondie and The Stranglers will take the stage with slightly less contentious sounds than they made in their safety-pins-through-the-cheeks heydays. Marking the reissuing of their 30-year-old album Parallel Lines, Blondie, led by Debbie Harry, has enjoyed a resurgence since reforming at the beginning of the decade. The band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2006.
The Stranglers, who last played in Israel in 1987, have never disbanded since the '70s, and the Hugh Cornwell-led group is expected to churn out its hits, including "Always the Sun," and "Golden Brown."
