Beatlemania shows no signs of letting up, at least in Holon. The fourth annual three-day Beatles Festival in Holon is taking place on May 26-28 and the lineup of attractions is as strong as ever.
Efrat Gosh, Hemi Rodner, Yael Deckelbaum, Yirmy Kaplan, Shlomo Gronich and Uzi Ramirez are just some of the performer who will be donning an English accent and reliving the days of the Fab Four Thursday’s opening night event will feature the now-traditional performance by the country’s premier Beatles tribute band, Magical Mystery Tour, on the roof of the city’s Steinberg Culture and Arts Center ala the final scene in Let It Be.
The evening will also include a tribute to George Harrison on the 10th anniversary of his death, featuring his songs from his Beatles and solo years performed by Alma Zohar, Yair Dallal and others. The opening night ends with Ramirez leading a power trio in “One and One and One is Three” – blues and psychedelic interpretations of Beatles classics Day two includes a lecture by Beatles expert and festival director Yoav Kutner, with musical accompaniment by Deckelbaum, a fashion show of ’60s style clothing, and in the evening, an all-star show featuring Rodner, Gronich, Kaplan and Tamar Eisenman performing together with the Magical Mystery Tour.
The final night will feature “Fool on the Hill,” a special show arranged by Avi Leibovitch and The Orchestra with special guests Gosh, Shlomi Saban and Dana Adini.
