Performing solo over the past few months has been a rewarding experience for popular singer/songwriter Asaf Avidan.
To commemorate the intimate shows, as Avidan gets ready to return to the rock & roll world with a new album and tour with his band The Mojos later this year, he decided to lock himself in a room for 48 hours armed only with his acoustic guitar, harmonica, video camera and an occasional guest, and record music.
The result is Asaf Avidan – In a Box, 30 songs performed by Avidan with no overdubs or elaborations. Guests include Rona Keinan, Shlomi Shaban and Avidan’s cellist, Karni Postel.
The videos are available as gift to his fans at thebox.asafavidanmusic.com and the songs (mostly new versions of material from his full band albums) can be downloaded for a fee as a full album, or per song.
