Kindertransport play comes to Jerusalem

The play tells the story of Eva Schlesinger, a 9-year-old girl sent away from Germany by her parents to England on the Kindertransport.

AACI’s J-Town Playhouse Theater Project presents its English production of Kindertransport.
Written by Diane Samuels and directed by Raphael Poch, Kindertransport tells the story of Eva Schlesinger, a 9-year-old girl sent away from Germany by her parents to England on the Kindertransport.
One of the 10,000 children to be shipped out of Germany so that she can hopefully survive the war, she grows up with her adoptive mother Lil Miller. 50 years later, now a grown woman who goes by the name of Evelyn, she lives with her daughter Faith, who is about to go to college and move out of the house.
When Lil comes by for a visit, Faith stumbles upon papers from her mother’s secret past, and the world that Evelyn tried to build for herself and her daughter starts to crumble. With Sara Fax, Chamutal Gallin, Dalya Orli Holder, Andrea Katz, Emily Langloh, Sapir Nachman, Shira Potter and Atarah Rose.
Kindertransport takes place today at 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. at Jerusalem’s AACI Center, as well as on April 29, April 30, May 1, May 7, May 13, May 14 and May 15 at 8 p.m. All performances will be accompanied by Hebrew subtitles. To order tickets go to www.aaci.org.il or call (02) 566-1181.
